Ongoing post accreditation systems monitoring
We were contracted in June 2018 to undertake a review of Standards 2,3 and 4 at three homes owned and operated by a private for-profit provider in SA. The homes had been through re-accreditation audits; however, the service provider wanted an independent review of their living environment, lifestyle and care service delivery.
We undertook the following activities:
- Consumer experience survey of greater than 20% of care recipients at one of the homes which identified specific gaps that required action in relation to care recipient lifestyle.
- Tracer methodology was used to audit clinical and lifestyle systems and processes for a group of care recipients. This identified significant gaps in pain, continence and behaviour management.
- A comprehensive report was provided for each home reviewed along with suggestions for improvements, resources, and education material.
